A green wedding quilt

A good friend and I made this quilt for the wedding of our mutual friends in April, 2005. We set up two sewing machines in her living room and pieced away. It's a courthouse step pattern from Kaffe Fassett's Glorious Patchwork.

A quilt for my sister

I made this Kaffe Fassett-inspired quilt last winter for my sister. It was my first handquilting project. I had enough squares left over to put together a baby quilt for Jasper, too.

A wedding quilt for Benjamin and Tanya

I finished Benjamin and Tanya's wedding quilt! I was inspired by Denyse Schmidt's amazing design called Run and Fall. I wanted the design to evoke coming together (hence the converging lines), growing (I used green and yellows to suggest a vine, or a bunch of flowers), and home (the design suggests an urban skyline - they live in NYC). I hand-stitched the applique and then machine quilted the whole thing in zig-zagging lines - it took about two months from start to finish (although the design process took a little longer).
